A volume of more than 80,000 m3 will constitute the new headquarters of CAP Holding Spa, the company manages the aqueducts and sewers of many municipalities of Milan and more. The project is part of a residential context on the edge of the “La Spezia” park. The available area is completely reinterpreted by opening a large public square within which the building stands. A monolithic volume characterized by a large overhang highlights the entrance and at the same time evokes the image of the floating ark that floats on the water. Able to accommodate over 400 employees, the building will consist of 6 floors and divided into spaces that include different types of offices, laboratories, a cafeteria, an auditorium for 200 people, a museum exhibition and a company nursery. The diversity of each single forum entails difficulty and maximum concentration in the development of the project, a challenge that IALC, thanks to an advanced and dynamic technical office, has decided without fear to face. The lighting system avoids large windows but diffuses natural light thanks to careful positioning of the windows. In addition, there will be large light wells to create a visual connection between the floors and ensure lighting in the central area of the building. A series of choices that raise the new headquarters of the CAP Group to the “Gold” level of LEED certification for sustainable buildings.
